In a few days Team H44WA will be submitting our QSL card photo candidates to our QSL Manager, Tim Beaumont, M0URX for our 4-sided card design. Now is a good opportunity for those who want one to make a request before the order is placed.
Some statistic highlights from our project:
60,503 total QSOs
18,265 unique stations
161 DXCC
160m=1,496
80m=3,014
60m=640
40m=5,733
30m=4,716
High bands were all over 8,000 or 9,000 contacts each
15m was the winner with 11,107 contacts.
CW: 29.39%
SSB: 21.3%

We were fairly distributed between Asia, EU, and NA and grabbed AF and SA when we could hear them. Thank you to all the stations who called!

Our third station lost its amplifier, so is a dedicated 100w ft8 station when running. We are operating two kilowatt stations now. Last night we ran about 15 hours of 40m CW with continuous massive pileups.
During this weekend's CW contest our CW operators will be choosing the WARC bands as conditions warrant. We have 4 full operating days left before we start packing up on our November 29. If you are in the United States that is your November 28.

Last night's conditions on 160m were down from the previous night. Tonight's plan is to get on 160m FT8 at our sundown, then move to CW as conditions allow. Look for us on 80m and 30m as well. Before you work us again please check log at Club Log and also watch the Livestream to see your call go by when you work us. Check for up-to-the-minute spots on DX Summit. If we got your call right, please don't repeat it before sending 599 or 59.

We did some RX antenna work for 80 and 160 (well, and 60 too), and we're itching to try it out. We started calling CQ on our FT8 Frequency, and as of 6:25pm local time, we already have one in the log. PSKreporter shows we're being received in the east coast.
Maybe give us a try?
1836 fox/hound. Some people try to call us below 1000Hz thinking it's a secret way to get worked. Since we use WSJT-X, it's not.
Please call us above 1000Hz.
Thanks!-Brian N9ADG (H44WA team member)

The 80m and 160m antennas are up. Currently we are experiencing S9+ noise, which seems to have become standard fair in this part of the Pacific. A BOG receive antenna has been installed in an effort to CW possible. It is initially pointed to NA. If it works we will switch direction to EU after several days.

Putting up 160m antenna is a today project. We will also take down 80m antenna to adjust SWR for CW portion of band.
Access to computer for website updates is limited. We definitely want to post an update asap with our thoughts and some photographs.

We all arrived safely in Honiara. Unfortunately all 15 checked bags from 5 of us on same flights never made it on the plane from our SFO connection to Fiji. We know this because we placed trackers in the bags. We are doing everything in our power to get the bags that were prepaid checked all the way through to Honiara on a flight to us ASAP. Our 6th team member, who flew a different route received all 3 of his checked bags.
Our inventory on site is all the coax and connectors, etc we air freighted ahead, the Flex Power Genius amp, 3 Elecraft K3 radios we carried on. We have the generator we pre-ordered locally. We are without any of our 11 antennas, we have no soldering gun or other tools. Several of us have very scant clothing and personal supplies.
We are in good hands and very well cared for by our multi-generation family hosts. Please stand by...
Kind regards,
Team H44WA
We just looked at our trackers. Our bags made it to Nadi!

Team H44WA is pleased to announce it will be the first team to test anti-spoofing software for FT8 developed by our own team member N9ADG, Brian Moran. Have more confidence your FT8 QSO’s with us are real. Specific information on how this will work can be found at Operating Info H44WA
Also, watch us on ClubLog Livestream (when our Internet is working) to verify your call sign in near real-time. Note: we will be using WSJT-X fox/hound mode. Therefore, hounds, please call well above 1000Hz (i.e. 1050 or higher).

Team H44WA received exciting news that our cargo is scheduled for release from customs for ground transport tomorrow afternoon to our Guadalcanal QTH in the Solomon Islands. We are on track for our November 15-29 H44WA activation. Our scheduled arrival is November 12 with 25 hours air travel plus several hours on the ground to our operating location. We may be on air early with FT8 as we build out our antenna farm. Fear not, we are a team of committed CW and SSB ops! Low bands, high bands, we've got you covered.
Meanwhile, we are honored to announce the generous $200 support for our project from the Madison DX Club.
The DX Engineering banner is packed with our gear and we will be proudly showing it off in photos because we want everyone to know DX Engineering is an integral supporter making these DXpeditions possible.
And, thank you to the 100+ individual supporters who have opted in to our pre-DXpedition automatic QSL program, in which QSL matches will show up in LoTW automatically during the DXpedition with an optional QSL card sent after the DXpedition is over. This program will be open until a few days before we depart, then normal QSL policy will apply.

H44WA Guadalcanal Island Solomon Islands News 30 August 2023
Our team of six from western Washington, H44WA, is set to leave for Honiara on Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands on November 10. Logistics include a combination of air cargo and three checked bags per team member. Our freight agent expects our air cargo to arrive in Honiara on a Sunday flight after leaving this week from Los Angeles. Our QTH runs exclusively on generators with no hot water or air conditioning.
We are taking extra measures against endemic malarial mosquitoes and the bedbugs with whom we will be cohabitating. We are planning carefully and very excited to bring those who need H44 slots a fun time. We have a very good location on the beach for NA and EU with plenty of space for our antenna field. N7QT did an on-site inspection in May, so we know as much as we can know in advance. We can't wait to get on the radio from H44!
Thanks again to DX Engineering for its generous support with donations of coax, crimpers, and connectors!
