Pierre Tromp, ZS1HF will be operational from Marion Island (IOTA AF-021) from the end of April 2010 as ZS8M.
He will be the electronic communication technician on Marion Island for a one year period.
Pierre's radio activities should start in May once the SA Agulhas has left the island.
This is not a DXpedtion and his workload will dictate his amateur radio activities.
So far only 100W and wire antennas will be used as a result of weight restrictions. Operations will be limited to SSB and possible digital modes QSL is via ZS1X direct.
