VC100NS Nova Scotia

The 100th anniversary of Girl Guides Nova Scotia (Canada) is being celebrated by a week long event at Camp Nedooae just north of Halifax, NS.

To commemorate the event the Halifax Amateur Radio Club has established a station at the site and obtained a special call sign for the event.

The call sign, VC100NS, will be used from the site from August 11, 2011 to August 19, 2011.  The purpose of the station is to show the Guides what Amateur Radio is about and give them the opportunity to contact other guides and amateurs around the world.

If you hear us on any of the HF bands (80M-10M) between the hours of 0900-1200 and 1300-1600 hrs ADT, please give us a call and extent a welcome to any of the guides that happen to be at the mike or in the shack of CG100NS.  They will be awed by your presence!  There will be other opportunities during the evenings over this period as well.  All times are -3 hrs Zulu (ADT).

John, VE1CDD (technical Chair of  HARC) is responsible for the operation and will be the QSL manager for all contacts.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Bob (VE1PQ)
Past President HARC
