To be or not to be (How to get unearned plaque or certificate in CQWW DX CONTEST).

I’ve been watching the Valery’s R5GA’s site http://pileup.ru/2010/cqww for over two month now. What really made me write this is the fact that many participants had been changing their entry in between the end of the contest and the dead line for log submission. Most of the changes had been done in one direction: from “UNASSISTED” to “ASSISTED” in both - SB (Single Band) or AB (All Band).
The CQWW DX CONTEST in my opinion is indeed the most participant’s friendly one! One of the features that makes it such is the possibility to send the log in as many times as one wishes. The CQWW CC accepts for judging the last version of the log sent in. What else could one want from the organizers!?
The CQWW has made in recent days such a GREAT progress in terms of making the contest
judging as transparent as it is now – open log policy, open claimed scores, web top scores available right after the judgement, regular webinaries and much more…
All these recent developments, though, had led to an unwanted practice – some participants (actually many of them) are now changing their entries on the fly (while the claimed scores are being anaunced) on the CQWW site and on the 3830 reflector, so that the participant secures his chances of winning an award or a trophy.
I want to suggest that the log submission process for participation in CQWW DX CONTEST should be more strict – once the log is submitted that’s it! The only way to resubmit the log is to gain a direct permission in writing from the Director of the contest. And the excuses are to be similar to the FORCE MAJOR ones in a regular international law prctice, otherwise we will see more and more escapes from originally UNASSISTED operations into a less blessed UNASSISTED which ruins the whole idea of a fair contesting.
