CQ WW DX CW Contest 2010. Jokingly and seriously

CQ WW DX CW Contest 2010. Jokingly and seriously.

Well, CQ WW DX Contest CW 2010 is smoothly becoming a history.
Though, the results are not available yet, those who insistently do not publish their scores at 3830@, perhaps forgot that most contesters do not search previous years results in magazines, but in 3830@.

Well, what attracted my attention of the past CQ WW DX CW 2010?
Sure, it is new M/S world record by P33W crew.

Per information available, D4C crew intensively kicks P33W operation style and they complain that using this style their victory was unfair.
Sports in general, but not only ham radio is quite unfair.
One of the main margin of victory is Contest Rules study.
I'll never forget how they tortured Albinas LY2MM about WRTC Rules.
Is the unfair thing in the fact that P33W used Dual CQ, while D4C didn't?
Sure it gave P33W advantage.
Are the Rules prohibiting this? No, they don't.
I got private information from WW CC, as if K3EST repeatedly stated that Dual CQ on the same band is unacceptable.
But if we review P33W, P3A style of operation over many years, we can see that they always used Dual CQ.
D4C crew shall understand that as per P33W crew opinion, it's also unfair to compete with them from D4 :-)
In general, D4C's mistake is that they didn't study P33W operating style in advance, and most probably, they did not consider P33W to be able to win against them at all.

There is still lack of fairness in the CQ WW Contest.
Is this fair that SO1R Category is missing?
Is this fair that NA stations get 2 points for QSO inside their Continent, but others get one?
Is this fair that somebody interpreted geography in very 'ham- radio' way, and arranged continental borders against geography schoolbooks?
And many other things...

I think, this situation shall attract both contesters and CC attention; though, I'm in doubt that the CC in its present set is able to perform any recreational actions.

Something in the Contest results made me smile.

Exceptionally distinguished was RD3A/EF8M :-)

This is 3830@ post sent by RD3A.
And here is his operating schedule taken at his web-site.

It turns out that while RD3A was having a rest, somebody, the unknown, diligently continued to operate in the contest for 2 hours :-)

Funny

In general, food during the contest is quite popular topic among us contesters.

Many are concerned about food contents during the contest; I was asked about this often.

I thought the most absurd was feeding I4UFH/D44TD during the CQ WW DX SSB.

But what I saw on this photo, undoubtedly, moved Fabio to the second place.

Such meals, for so much as 39 hours of the contest, may be offered only to the death sentenced contester.
Besides that, I keep saying that during the contest one has to feed himself only with the meals he used to.
Knowing the taste of RD3A, I would not be surprised to see Georgian khinkali on his desk (perhaps, there in no khinkali available in EA8), but I would tear off hands and head of the supporter and producer of what we see on the table.
It's impossible to consume such food in the contest ..........

PS. Well, you may try to keep a plate like Fabio during the contest, with someone operating a fork, or try to eat something from the RD3A/EF8M table without interrupting a contest.

Ok to see all changes look on other pictures
